Just across the Dauphin Island bridge, you’ll find the quick and convenient Dollar General to purchase your most basic supplies, from snack foods to microwaveable meals.
Greer’s Old Bay Market
Greer’s Old Bay Market, just a short drive off the island, is a local grocery store chain that is a popular choice for tourists and locals alike. It includes a deli/bakery, fresh produce, quality meat, and a large selection of groceries. Stop in to browse the shelves and get to know the locals, or breeze through your shopping with a curbside pickup or home delivery. Though not exactly your traditional grocery store, the seafood mart provides fresh takeout entrees at market price. Call in your order as soon as possible at (251) 861-4221 and drive to 1012 Blenville Boulevard for curbside pickup. Chain Stores
If there’s something you can’t get your hands on anywhere else, Mobile has the most common chain stores. The Walmart Supercenter offers a full-service supermarket, including meat and poultry, baked goods, delicatessen, frozen food, dairy products, and seafood.
Walmart is located at 5245 Rangeline Service Road, a 45-minute drive away from Dauphin Island. To get there, take exit 17A of 1-10 and drive right. However, with Walmart’s online ordering program, you won’t need to waste your time! Walmart offers same-day delivery or curbside pickup for all your shopping needs. Order online or use the Walmart App and have your purchases brought to your front door at a time that is convenient for you.
A second, smaller Walmart is located at 7320 Theodore Dawes Road in nearby Theodore, only a 30-minute drive from Dauphin Island. Like Walmart Supercenter, the Walmart Neighborhood Market offers delivery to your door or curbside pickup.
Other major chain stores include Publix and Winn-Dixie. The closest Publix is at 2370 Hillcrest Road in Mobile, but get your groceries, home essentials and more delivered directly to you. Use the Publix Mobile app to request a home delivery or curbside pickup. Likewise, the Winn-Dixie at 5827-D West in Theodore will deliver your groceries in as little as one hour.
