Paintball
Based on 18-acres of land, this is Mobile County’s largest scenario paintball battleground. Every time you come to play here at the Southern Alabama Paintball facility, they change the layout to get a different experience.
They offer a fantastic adventure for all players, whether you’re new or experienced. Paintball is a safe, fun, and exciting experience for people of all ages.
When you get hit with the tiny paintball, it will explode on impact, leaving you covered in paint! Other players will know you’ve been hit by the colorful paint splatter! Here, they promote sportsmanship and realistic play while leveling the playing field for all. The facilities are open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Southern Alabama Paintball wants to make sure everyone learns how great of a sport paintball can be!
Airsoft
Airsoft is a recreational sports activity where the players fight to eliminate each other by hitting each other with small plastic pellets. Players use replica firearms that look and feel realistic. Airsoft firearms use 6mm plastic bb pellets that do not break on impact. Airsoft guns can run off of one of three things: rechargeable batteries, spring pressure, or “green gas,” aka propane. Since you cannot see if a player is hit, airsoft often runs on an “honor system” where players must “call their hits.” Many different games can be played when shooting airsoft. Some of the games played include short-term skirmishes, organized scenarios, or historical reenactments. Some participants will use tactical equipment used by modern military and police organizations.
The minimum age to play airsoft at this facility is 10 years old. If you have kids under 18, a waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian before that player can play.
Pricing
If you plan on playing paintball, there are a couple of packages for pricing. The basic rental package comes with 500 paintballs, all-day play, all-day air, the field fee, marker (otherwise known as the Paintball gun), and the mask. This package costs $32. If you want more paintballs, bags of 500 can be purchased for $12. If you have your own equipment, the field fee is $20. This fee includes the all-day for one and the tanks for reloading. A case of 2,000 paintballs costs $45.
If you’re planning on doing Airsoft, there are different pricing and packages. If you have your own equipment, you can rent the field for $20. The basic airsoft package comes with 1,000 BB pellets, the airsoft gun, a mask, and the field fee. This package costs $45.
Rules and Regulations
As with any sport, there are rules and regulations that must be followed to respect your fellow players and the facility. If you are caught stealing from the facility or cheating, you will receive a lifetime ban. Do not engage in harassing communications, threaten a player, or physically assault a player. The penalty can be up to a lifetime ban. Do not yell across the field. Notify a referee if you need to “call your hits” in airsoft. There are protocols in place to help make your game run smoother. If you are hit, call “HIT!” and then raise your hand. You can also raise your gun in the air to signal you have been hit, and other players cannot attack you. If you are “dead,” you are not allowed to talk. If you want to respawn, walk back to your team’s designated spawn site.
Referees will make calls if there is any confusion on the scores. This happens in all sports and is simply a part of the game. Whatever call is made on the field is final. Make sure that you follow all rules, including in the parking lots! There is a speed limit when entering and exiting the facility. Make sure to keep your speed below 15 miles per hour. Speeding will result in an additional $5 to your field fee. Incur a second penalty, and you will be asked to leave for the day. A third penalty will result in a ban.
Ensure that all protective gear is on during the game and anywhere near or on the field. Stray rounds may hit you, so make sure your eyes and face coverings are adequately secured. You may remove these when you are safely away from any fields. Do not dry fire in the parking lot or staging area. You must make sure to treat every gun as if it is loaded. You are not allowed to have a magazine inside your weapon outside the cage. If you have a pistol airsoft gun, make sure it is holstered before entering the enclosure. If you want to leave the game, all players must pull the magazine from their gun and clear the barrel.
The field is semi-automatic only. You are not to have burst shots or automatic shots. These rules are set in place to make sure all players have a fun time and respect the sports of paintball and airsoft.
