Robin's Blog for Dauphin Island

Hello everyone... by now I am sure you have heard the news of the oil spill which is travelling toward Dauphin Island.  I will be periodically posting information regarding the status of the spill on my blog.  Government agencies are on the island and deploying containment booms to protect the wetlands and natural habitats.  This is mainly being done on the north side of the island.  While no oil has made landfall on Alabama shores yet, we are anticipating oil making its arrival as early as Sunday. And unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating with high winds and seas.  We are currently under a coastal flood watch through Monday afternoon, May 3rd.

Below are a few websites which can be accessed for updates on the situation, as well as useful phone numbers.  Volunteers are being recruited for the clean up process and any type of help would be welcome in all areas of the Alabama coast.
