SHORELINE RESTORATION PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING

On behalf of the Town Council, we are pleased to announce a Shoreline Restoration Public Informational Meeting is scheduled for April 13, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Richard C. Shelby Building located at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. This will be a good opportunity to learn about possible shoreline stabilization methods/projects, associated environmental permit requirements, cost estimates, legal matters, potential funding sources and more. A panel of experts will be on hand to make presentations in their area of responsibility and a question and answer session will follow. Whether you live along the shore or in the wooded portion of the island, all property owners are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you!

Island Watch encourages all property owners to attend. Mayor Jeff Collier will moderate a panel of experts including Dr. Scott Douglas, who has done a study of shoreline stabilization of Dauphin Island and will present the results of his study, Bob Campbell, attorney for the Town of Dauphin Island, Dr. Merrill Mc Pherson, possible funding sources for the project ,and a representative from the Alabama State Lands Division. After the presentations, attendees may ask questions of the panel.

This meeting concerns all who are interested in the future of Dauphin Island.
